THE POEM-MOMENT
THE MOMENT-FLOWER
A FLOWER OF CHANCE
A CHANCE THAT HAPPENS
HAPPENS IN THE MARGIN
THE MARGIN OF LIFE
ODE TO LIFE
Hail,
halo,
pale,
pure,
avid
flier of
life
living!
US
Solely in
our
sleep
are we
sole: solely
us, solely
sleep.
OF THE RHYME
Nest,
mime,
pest
the rhyme!
It will rest
sublime.
BODY AND SOUL
The mud
demands.
Calm,
the soul
psalms.
“PYOMOE”
I brood:
intimate
isthmus
from pith
to rite
this is:
RHYTHM
WAVE
Will you
wander,
wave?
Patrolling
lanes?
Probing
legends?...
Wander,
wave!
SPRING
Erstwhile,
the ache
of love.
Meanwhile,
the colour,
the scent.
In exile
flourishes
the flower.
SHADOW
A shoulder’s
tumble:
a shadow
haunts.
The shadow’s
action:
haunting.
LUNATIC
Nude
and crude
waft
and act
-What do you do
moon?
-You phase.
THE SIXTH DAY
The sludge’s
sloth
all
absorbed.
Dead?
A blow:
is body.
MIRAGE
What do you bring
o image?
Phases of the
pilgrimage?
Oasis’
message?...
What do you do
(neither stare
nor act),
mirage?
IT IS SO FINE
It is so fine
to stroll with
sun that pelts
in peace!
But without shade.
Solitude.
RHYME FOR “VERSE”?
Always the inverse,
the reverse,
the dispersed,
the diverse,
the adverse
of this terse
universe
that is the VERSE.
HERE AND THERE
Hither
farther is
found.
Farther,
who is
around?
HORIZON
Hill upon hill,
vale upon vale,
adrift in Nothing.
Build what you will,
what it will avail:
a gift of nothing.
SILENCE
If the suspended
signalling
scarf
spoke,
without sympathy
nor cloak,
simulate
such talk!
-It would be:
“Silence”.
THE ROMANTIC
Mythical
mystics,
limpid
impetus,
pale
idols,
dignified
signs,
frail
lyricists.
HEARTACHE
Where the causes,
the sunsets
or the pauses
of your cases,
Heartache, o Heartache?
- I eye the
shallow
eyes
of the lake.
JULY
Gold and ardour,
the hurt and the fall,
fall asleep
MESSE D’OR
TWILIGHT
In a masked sky
the kiss
final and miniscule
of a miniature,
matt and dusky
mourning sun.
SEMIABSTRUSE
In the conch
of an oyster
a pearl:
In the shell
of an eyelid
a tear.
OTHER ERAS
It was the infancy
the halt in the odyssey.
Now the instance,
the persistence
in the existence
of the distance.
THE BADLY MADE WORD
Sounds so light…
(the blowing dust,
the smoking flight,
the blurring burst,
the passing kite,
the fraying veil)
… the “indelible”!
THE WORD WITHOUT RHYME
Is there a rhyme? Such
does in fact exist.
It gives us so much
what does it consist?
“sister and”
“mother”
DISCONSOLATION
A “NOW” in Time
(now forgotten?),
in Space a “MORE”
(more distant?),
give, perhaps,
“NO MORE”.
WORK
Ardor
vigor
rigor:
this is – labor.
Allure
pure
glamour:
this is – couture.
CHRISTMAS
Born from the Star above:
Jesus, the Light of Love.
DIALOGUE
-Life, might
you be the nod
the one with which
goodbye we wish
ourselves each night?
-Thank God!
TEDIUM
Not the biggest,
nor the smallest,
nor the best,
nor the worst,
but the gloomy
melancholy
of the term- medium
solely the… (title
of this chapter).
HOURGLASS
I dwell
on the well
of “Time
That Flies”.
The grain
without aim,
slowly
flowing.
THE THOUGHT
Run the risk,
settle, chaste,
plan to leave
and, escape,
flying fickle,
on the face
from a wrinkle
remains a trace.
